German public broadcaster ARD will cease the satellite distribution of its TV channels in SD resolution on Astra (19.2° East) in January 2021.
German service provider Media Broadcast has ceased marketing its HDTV platform Freenet TV for DTH satellite households on Astra (19.2° East) on February 5, 2020.
Following Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, German media company ProSiebenSat.1 has also decided to continue broadcasting its free-TV channels unencrypted in SD resolution via the Astra satellite system (19.2 degrees East).
The free-TV channels of German commercial broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland will continue to be available in SD quality unencrypted via Astra (19.2° East) until at least 2024.
M7 Group’s German DTH satellite and internet platform Diveo, which ceased operations on November 30, 2019, recommends its former customers to move to TV streaming provider Zattoo.
