Sportdigital takes EDGEsport under its roof

April 22, 2024 15.44 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German fun and action sports channel EDGEsport will be fully integrated into the Sportdigital broadcasting group and renamed Sportdigital EDGE.

With the move, the Hamburg-based sports TV broadcaster which was previously only responsible for the distribution of the channel in German-speaking countries, is now also taking over responsibility for content.

At the same time, Sportdigital is expanding the channel’s content lineup to include new competitions and more live sports. The new rights acquired for Sportdigital EDGE include outdoor events such as the Golden Trail Series or the World Triathlon Championship and competitions such as the Squash World Tour and the Jet Ski World Series.

Sportdigital EDGE can be received via distribution partners such as waipu.tv, wilhelm.tel and Cliq Digital and as part of the trendSports package via Astra (19.2° East) on Sky Deutschland and on the HD+ satellite platform. The channel is also available in Switzerland on MySports.

In addition to Sportdigital EDGE, the pay-TV channels Sportdigital Fußball and Sportdigital Fußball 2 as well as the FAST Channel Scooore are also part of the Sportdigital channel group. All channels are also included in the new Sportdigital+ app, which is available for iOS and Android devices as well as for smart TVs.
