European Commission delays Google/Motorola

Film1 Series to challenge Dutch HBO

Chellomedia Direct Programming will launch a new premium channel in the Netherlands named Film1 Series on January 17. The new channel is the broadcaster’s answer to the imminent start of HBO in Holland.

Now there’s an iPhone app for iPlayer

The BBC has introduced a new iPlayer app for the iPhone and iPod touch. It follows 1.2 million downloads for its iPad and 1.5 million downloads for its Android apps.

French government publishes report on connected TV

Thirty per cent of all televisions sold in France this year can be connected to the internet and the figure will grow to 100% by 2015. There is a need to look into new regulatory issues, according to a new report on connected TV published by the ministries of culture, industry and digital.

Spectrum auction to deliver new TV and wireless services

Sky: Movie inquiry failed to consider Netflix
