Vivendi relaunches German SVOD service Watchever

French media company Vivendi wants to counter competition from Amazon Instant Prime, Netflix, maxdome and other players in the German subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) market through a relaunch of its SVOD service Watchever.

Lovefilm adds ABC in Germany

US networks block programmes from Google TV

The three major US networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, are blocking their programmes from access by Google TV, writes The Wall Street Journal. Full-length episodes of shows like NBC’s The Office, CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and ABC’s Modern Family can’t be viewed on the connected TV service.

ABC and Nielsen sync iPad with TV

Hulu launches premium service Hulu Plus

It’s official. Following weeks of speculation, Hulu has launched a preview of its premium pay service Hulu Plus offering full current season runs of hit TV programs from ABC, FOX and NBC across multiple Web-connected devices, in HD, for $9.99 (€8.13) a month.
