AMC’s involvement in BBC America contributed to a $405 million rise in revenues in 2015.
Sarah Barnett has been named as President and General Manager of BBC America as joint venture partner AMC Networks puts its stamp on the channel.
AMC Networks has entered into a new and long-term partnership with BBC Worldwide. Under it, the company will acquire a 49.9% equity stake in the cable channel BBC America for $200 million, with BBC Worldwide retaining 50.1%.
Among cable networks, HBO saw the most piracy, with 381,952 users worldwide and 38,330 users in the US illegally sharing HBO content daily.
