SRG postpones transition to HEVC/H.265 on satellite

The Corona crisis has put a damper on Swiss public broadcaster SRG’s plan to move its satellite channels to the new HEVC/H.265 compression standard in 2021.

SRG to move to HEVC/H.265 on satellite

In the course of 2021, Swiss public broadcaster SRG plans to migrate the DTH satellite broadcast of its TV channels on Eutelsat Hotbird (13° East) to HEVC/H.265 in preparation for the introduction of Ultra HD.

WDR and Fraunhofer HHI join forces for VVC/H.266

Italy to subsidise DVB-T2 receivers with €50
