Travelxp 4k will cease its distribution on the Astra satellite system (19.2 degrees East) in Europe on April 1, 2020.
The Ultra HD (UHD) channel launched on Astra in December 2017, targeting the customers of German DTH platform HD+.
An HD+ spokesman confirmed to German industry magazine InfoDigital that Travelxp 4k decided to terminate the Astra distribution, but stressed that HD+ would continue to drive UHD through several new content propositions.
The pay-TV channel, which offers a 24-hour schedule with UHD programmes in HDR comprising, for example, documentaries about different cultures and exotic locations, continues to be available across Europe on Eutelsat’s Hotbird satellite system (13° East).
Travelxp 4k did not comment on the situation when contacted by Broadband TV News.
