Andre Prahl remains Chairman of Deutsche TV-Plattform

April 24, 2018 14.49 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Andre Prahl will stay the Chairman of German industry association Deutsche TV-Plattform for two more years.

At their general meeting in Hamburg, the representatives of the more than 50 member companies, organisations and institutions of Deutsche TV-Plattform re-elected the head of the programme distribution department of commercial broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland as the Chairman of the industry association.

Dr Michael Rombach (Production Director NDR, for ARD) and Markus Zumkeller (Director of Technology and Engineering Sony Europe) act as deputies and continue their activities on the executive board.

Stefanie Griebel (Senior Vice President TV Delivery Deutsche Telekom), Christoph Mühleib (Managing Director Astra Deutschland) and Rolf Wierig (Vice President Entertainment Products Consumer Vodafone) were newly appointed to the board. The term of office of the new board is two years.

The board also includes the heads of the working groups of Deutsche TV-Plattform: Holger Meinzer (Media Broadcast, Terrestrial Broadcasting & Mobile Media), Jürgen Sewczyk (Eutelsat, Smart Media) and Stephan Heimbecher (Sky Deutschland, Ultra HD).

Dr Andreas Bereczky (Production Director ZDF) and Gert von Manteuffel (Vice President Product Management TV Deutsche Telekom) did not run for re-election and are therefore no longer represented on the board.

Deutsche TV-Plattform offers a platform for information, exchange and project work regarding technical developments. This year’s focus is on 5G, Ultra HD, HDR, Virtual and Augmented Reality as well as Next Generation Audio.
