German news channel N24 will become WELT (translated “World”) on January 18, 2018.
With the move announced in July 2015, the channel will adopt the brand of newspaper Die Welt published by Axel Springer. The German media company acquired N24 on December 9, 2013.
From mid-January 2018, the WELT brand will consequently cover TV, print and the internet.
“With a joint strong brand, we can offer a maximum of orientation and reliability, independent of when and where our audience wants to inform itself,” said channel head Dr Torsten Rossmann.
Documentary channel N24 Doku will, however, keep its name.
