Australia’s Fetch TV is integrating the Metrological Application Platform integrated onto its service. Fetch will also utilise the Metrological Lightning Framework to enhance the performance of the Fetch user interface.
IP Vision has launched a new app for its Fetch TV service that appears on Panasonic Viera TVs. A second app for Samsung’s Smart TV platform will launch during Q1 2012.
The first interactive application has gone live on IP Vision’s FetchTV platform. Betfair’s interactive football betting app allows Fetch TV customers registered with the bookmaker to place bets on UK and European matches using the Fetch TV remote control.

The BBC Trust has criticised new guidelines set by the BBC for the creation of self-build versions of the BBC iPlayer. The comments came as the BBC regulatory body rejected an appeal by IP Vision, which wanted to add a bespoke version of the iPlayer to its FetchTV product.
FetchTV, the hybrid DTT platform that is combining the BBC iPlayer with Sky Player and a proprietary VOD service, is to be made available to third party manufacturers.
Sky has signed a distribution agreement with the hybrid DTT-IP platform Fetch TV and confirmed the launch date for the delivery of its content over the Xbox.
