Fresh from its merger ViacomCBS is planning on an expansion of its CBS All Access into an expanded service that would bring in assets from Pluto TV, Nickelodeon, BET, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures.
Last January, Amazon added the CBS All Access commercial-free plan to Amazon Channels. Today Amazon announced that they have added the cheaper limited commercial plan to Amazon Channels.
Speaking to investors, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves said the company continued to “surpass expectations” for its digital subscriber base.
Last year, the two CBS OTT services reached almost five million subscribers, reaching the target originally set for 2020.
CBS All Access, CBS’ digital S-VOD and live streaming service, and Amazon have launched CBS All Access’ commercial-free offering to the Prime membership with Amazon Channels.
CBS is expanding the availability of CBS All Access internationally through a partnership of its CBS Interactive and CBS Studios International divisions.
CBS is the first of the national US networks to offer a TV Everywhwere service with live and on-demand programming.
