The move is part of the expansion of the partnership between Vodafone and Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland.
The long-term agreement also enables Vodafone to make a larger amount of RTL content available on its catch-up TV service GigaTV Mediathek and offer it longer than before: up to 30 days following the TV broadcast. The line-up will include Ultra HD programmes.
The contract also covers the distribution of 12 free-TV and pay-TV channels from RTL Deutschland on Vodafone’s nationwide cable network and on its OTT services.
In addition, both companies have agreed to cooperate on addressable TV advertising solutions and on the development of new forms of TV services and products.
