Timo Schneckenburger to leave HD+

June 18, 2021 11.05 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Timo Schneckenburger (CCO) will leave German DTH satellite platform HD+ on July 31, 2021 at his own request and by best mutual agreement, the subsidiary of Astra satellite operator SES announced.

Since the launch of HD+ 14 years ago, Schneckenburger has been responsible for marketing, communication and sales as managing director, handling brand development and brand management of the only B2C brand of the Luxembourg-based SES group.

“I look back with pride on the very successful journey I was able to embark on and shape with my team for and with HD+,” said Schneckenburger. “As a team, we have managed to build a new business model in the German TV and consumer electronics industry with the marketing of high-definition and today even ultra-high-definition television. After around 14 years, but especially after a very successful past business year for HD+, I can hand over my responsibility for the clearly and strongly positioned brand. There will be a lot to hear and experience from HD+ this year.”

The HD+ management team will take over Schneckenburger’s responsibilities together with Norbert Hölzle. “We are very grateful to Timo Schneckenburger for the excellent work he has done for HD+ and high-definition television in Germany. The clear brand positioning of HD+ bears his signature, this also applies to today’s market position. We wish Timo only the very best in his future endeavours,” said Hölzle.

Hölzle heads the business of SES Video in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and has also been managing director of HD+ since this year.
