Elisa Klassic customers throughout the whole of Estonia are now able to watch the country’s most popular terrestrial TV channels in HD.
According to Elisa, this follows the successful first phase of the project, which was launched in October.
Kanal 2, Kanal 11, Kanal 12, TV3, TV6, TV3+, Sony Channel, Sony Turbo, Filmzone and Filmzone+, as well as ETV, ETV2 and ETV+, can now be viewed in the format.
Commenting on the development, Silver Soomre, head of Elisa TVservices, said: “The test period started in October passed successfully and we received very good feedback from our customers. The HD TV picture was highly anticipated in this customer segment and in cooperation with Levira, we are delighted to offer our customers a sharper experience all over Estonia”.
While the earlier Levira terrestrial TV was at 576i, the new TV is about twice the resolution.
Meelis Anton, head of network services at Levira, added: “The transition to HD-quality channel broadcasting gives viewers the opportunity to enjoy several times sharper TV and even the smallest details in TV shows or movie”.
