From Q1 2014 to Q1 2019, the total subscription revenues of the direct pay-TV market increased by 19%, reaching €8.9 billion in Q1 2019, according to Dataxis.
DTH remains the first technology, as its revenues still account for 39% of the total. However, they have tended to decrease since 2015.
Direct cable revenues are rather stable and account for 26% of the total but have been inferior to IPTV revenues (30%) since 2018.
DTT represents only 2% of the total revenues and is declining, surpassed in Q1 2019 by OTT pay-TV, whose revenues now represent 3% of the total.
This confirms the growth and strategic importance of this technology in the pay-TV market.
