Smartclip/SpotX promote Jonas Rundgren

May 4, 2018 10.37 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Jonas Rundgren has been appointed the new MD, Nordics for global video advertising and monetisation platforms smartclip and SpotX.

Leading the teams in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki, he will oversee both brands, working with agencies to provide superior monetisation for publishers using smartclip, as well as driving growth for publishers and media owners using the SpotX technology platform.

Rundgren joined smartclip in 2010 and is currently business development director Northern Europe and global media. He will succeed Mattias Spetz, who has been leading smartclip in the Nordics since the company entered the region in 2010 and supervised the merger of SpotX and smartclip in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

Spetz will stay at SpotX and smartclip in a consulting role for the remainder of this year.

Commenting on Rundgren’s promotion, Jean-Pierre Fumagalli, general manager EMEA at SpotX, said: “Jonas Rundgren is an extremely capable and experienced ad tech industry leader who has been delivering strong results for our business for the past eight years. He lives and breathes video advertising and knows the Nordic markets well. We are convinced that he will continue Mattias Spetz’ work and will further strengthen the position of SpotX and smartclip in the Nordic markets. At the same time we would like to thank Mattias for his effort and contribution to the company. He has been vital to the success of the business over the past eight years.”

Rundgren said: “I’m thrilled to be spearheading the transformation we are going through with smartclip and SpotX. With our presence in the Nordic Countries, we understand – and can meet – the Nordic advertising industry’s specific requirements. I’d like to thank my predecessor Mattias, who has been a strong support in the past months to prepare for my new position.”
