MX1 becomes full service provider for eoTV

September 15, 2017 09.05 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German technical services provider MX1 has been chosen by German free-to-air channel eoTV to handle all content management, playout, uplink and distribution services via satellite.

The subsidiary of Astra satellite operator SES is also managing the broadcaster’s signal supply for HbbTV applications and to OTT platforms such as Freenet TV Connect and Zattoo.

For the administration and management of its content, eoTV uses end-to-end media services platform MX1 360. The solution enables content distribution onto different platforms from a central source.

The channel screening TV series produced in Europe launched as a 24/7 service on Astra (19.2° East) on August 15, 2017. Previously, eoTV was only broadcasting in the evening hours on the Astra slot occupied by children’s and family channel RiC TV.
