Germany’s national football association Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) will offer its video-on-demand (VOD) service on Amazon.
German internet users will be able to watch selected Bundesliga series like The biggest games and Legends of the league within the Amazon Digital Video Store.
The VOD service launched in September 2015 on Sky Deutschland. The agreement with Amazon Video will run – like with Sky – until the end of the 2016/17 season, according to DFL.
The VOD service offers entertainment from 52 years of Bundesliga as well as new spotlights on stars and great moments, triumphs and tragedies. Historic footage and TV original commentaries are also part of the content line-up in addition to today’s views by celebrity witnesses.
The VOD service is based on the German Football Archive operated by DFL subsidiary Sportcast in Cologne which contains more than 65,000 hours of video material.
