March 2013 was a good month for RTL Nederland’s online services, with some of its programmes among the most viewed, and its websites and apps seeing an increase in views.
In March, four of RTL Nederland programmes made the top five list of most-viewed shows online. The online viewers’ favourites include the top-ranked hit soap Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden and the reality shows Huisje Boompje Barbie, Cheat on Me and Echte Meisjes op de Prairie in third, fourth and fifth place respectively.
RTL Nederland shows generated 50.7 million video views on the RTL site, with the new soap Malaika, broadcast on RTL 5, scored 287,000 views in its first week after launch, ranking 8th overall among the most viewed formats. The extra content offered in the form of video blogs was viewed 51,000 times.
Overall, in the few first months of 2013 RTL Nederland reached over six million people over the age of 13. This figure does not include its mobile reach, however according to Comscore figures, 25% of content is viewed via apps and 18% on mobile websites. Consequently, the channel’s share of video views on apps has grown from an average 8% in 2012 to 46% in 2013, while the amount of video views on the RTL Nederland website has increased by 11% compared to 2012.
