Turkey will have 95.6% digital TV penetration by 2016, up from 55.3% at end-2010, according to a country report from Digital TV Research.
However, the Turkey digital TV forecasts report states that only 31.6% of homes will pay for TV subscriptions by 2016, up from 21.8% at end-2010. These 6.4 million home will generate pay TV revenues of US$1.2 billion in 2016.
Turkey has an expanding television market with dozens of channels broadcasting on digital platforms, including satellite DTH, IPTV and cable as well as a nascent DTT infrastructure.
