Almost 50% of all French households can access services using their connected TV, according to research by GfK.
Unlike 3D TVs, connecting the television set to online video services has passed the stage of being a hype. According to GfK, web TV is a real hit with consumers.
The most recent GfK study reveals that 49% of all French homers say they have a device in the home enabling them to watch TV services on the web.
Connectivity of the TV set comes in many forms, not only on the TV set, but also using device such as Blu-ray players and game consoles.
Also, IPTV operators are now pushing their next-generation boxes, such as the Free Révolution and Neuf Evolution, which allow viewers access to web TV services.
