Achilleas Kanaris has been appointed CEO of Vodafone Romania, effective July 1.
Reporting to Serpil Timuray, CEO of European Cluster, he will replace Murielle Lorilloux, who is ending her four-year term in Romania and will take over the position of Vodafone business unit director for Europe, Turkey and Egypt.
Kanaris joined Vodafone in 2009 and s held a number of roles in the commercial area in Greece, including the position of consumer business director. In this role he integrated Hellas Online, thereby transforming Vodafone into a fully converged operator.
He then became CEO of Vodafone Albania, where he successfully led the company’s transformation from an exclusively mobile operator into a fully converged business by acquiring and integrating Albania’s second largest fixed TV and pay-TV operator.
Prior to joining Vodafone, he held several leading roles in telecommunications and consulting in the UK.
