The Spanish government has given its approval to the merger between the French mobile operator Orange and its Spanish counterpart MasMovil.
It’s the last stage in the process after European approval was received last month.
In mitigation, the two partners have agreed to divest 60MHz of spectrum assets to rival Digi and proposed an optional national roaming agreement at market conditions.
Orange and MasMovil now plan to complete the €18.6 billion transaction by the end of this quarter.
