Dutch cable operators including Vodafone Ziggo, Stichting Kabelnet Veendam and Delta will lose the BBC Entertainment channel as of March 31, 2023.
BBC content has long been a favourite in The Netherlands. However, BBC Entertainment is effectively duplicating content that has already been seen on domestic channels BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four, which are also licenced in the Benelux countries.
Many Dutch operators also offer BBC content through their on demand services.
BBC Entertainment launched in December 2006 as a replacement for BBC Prime.
