Polish MSO TOYA has begun the rollout of MAXX 4K, a new hybrid DVB/IP AndroidTV Set-top box, incorporating Codespot’s dotTV application.
Codespot’s white-labelled dotTV app offers TOYA subscribers enhanced content discovery options and a comprehensive video package. This includes linear channels, catchup, and a wide array of video-on-demand options. Additional features include voice search, access to the app store, and various premium streaming applications.
Jacek Kobierzycki, CEO, TOYA, said: “Thanks to our collaboration with Codespot and the introduction of MAXX 4K, our subscribers now have the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds: the reliability and familiarity of classic TV combined with the innovation and versatility of modern OTT streaming, all presented in a user-friendly and intuitive interface.”
Jakub Górski, co-founder of Codespot added: “We are delighted to be working with TOYA, who is a beacon for other video service operators in the region. This rollout is a testament to the fact that AndroidTV is now an accessible option for mid-sized operators as well.”
The TOYA deployment runs across a true hybrid network, which includes cable broadcast (DVB-C), IPTV (multicast), and over-the-top (OTT) delivery. It will gradually replace TOYA’s existing 3G Linux-based hybrid DVB/IP set-top boxes.
