Only 266,000 households in Poland were still unprepared to receive DVB-T2/HEVC terrestrial TV services as of this October.
According to country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), quoting the National Media Institute (KIM), this was down from 990,000 in August and meant that as of last month 93% of households were prepared for DVB-T2/HEVC reception.
It adds that most of the unprepared households are often single person, consisting of older people, less educated and low income.
Furthermore, less are aware a fifth are aware of the transition, which will be completed at the end of this year.
The completion has been delayed by the decision to allow MUX3 to continue to use the DVB-T/AVC standard until December. This was dictated by the situation in Ukraine.
