The Spanish tower operator Cellnex plans to fully dispose of its operations in Ireland and Austria.
Speaking to Reuters, its CEO Marco Patuano added that it will accelerate its asset sales in order to get an investment grade credit by the middle of 2024.
Patuano also said he expects consolidation in the European tower business, the number of companies likely to be reduced from the current six.
In addition, he raised the prospect of Cellnex bidding for Deutsche Telecom’s tower business.
