The Ukrainian regulator National Council has registered two more foreign linear media channels for distribution in the country.
DTX is owned by UK-based Discovery Corporate Services Limited and aimed at Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, English Club TV is owned by English Club TV Ltd. Based in London, it is broadcast from Sweden and aimed at viewers in Europe.
Separately, National Council has awarded licences for the national multiplex MX-7. The winners are:
LLC “Solar Media” (logo “SONCE”), p. Sofiyivska Borshchagivka of the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn district of the Kyiv region; “My-Ukraine” LLC, Kyiv (“MY-UKRAINE” logo); SE “Parliamentary TV channel “Rada” (“RADA” logo), Kyiv; LLC “Digivan” (logo “UNIAN 2”), Kyiv; LLC “Vizhn 2+2” (logo “VIZHN 2”), Kyiv; LLC “Vizhn 3” (logo “VIZHN 3”), Kyiv; “Korysne TV” TV and Radio Company LLC (logo “LIGHT”), Kyiv.
All channels will be required to broadcast at least 60% national content.
Two other companies – PE “Tyuso” (“TYUSO” logo), Kyiv, i LLC “Icelandia” (logo “Icelandia” (combined)), Bucha, Kyiv region – failed to secure national licences.
