The Ukrainian regulator National Council has added Extreme Sports Channel to the list of foreign services allowed to be distributed in the country.
It is the second linear foreign channel to be approved after Music Box.
According to National Council, Extreme Sports Channel is licensed in the UK, focused on active sports and lifestyle and aimed at viewers in Europe and the Middle East. The programs are broadcast in four languages with subtitles in another five languages.
In a separate development, National Council has awarded a licence to operate the national multiplex MX-7 Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television Concern (RRT Concern).
RRT Concern was the only participant in the competition and will build the multiplex.
MX-7’s capacity will be 12 channels and it expected to come into operation by January 1, 2024.
