A1 Serbia says it is accelerating the construction of its own optical network with the aim of providing users with fixed services from 2024.
Preparatory work on the ground, as well as acquisition and obtaining the necessary consents of the population, begin during the summer, mostly in Belgrade.
Since the arrival of the A1 brand on the country, the company has been making increased investments in quality and infrastructure development. In addition to so far building over 300 km of its own optical network, it recently became the owner of over 850 km of telecommunication pipes for laying optical cable, thanks to a contract with the company Conexio.
The company went on to say: “New generation optical and mobile networks, such as 5G, for which A1 Serbia is fully prepared and eagerly awaits the auction, should support many contemporary trends that are here or coming at a high speed, as well as the growing needs of our users and the market. Digitisation and automation are becoming more intense, new internet services are being developed thanks to connecting devices. Increasing integration of these networks is expected, which opens up opportunities for new ways of providing services, new applications and partnerships”.
