Technology consultancy and software engineers Merapar have appointed Alex Terpstra as their new CEO.
Terpstra previously worked with Civolution and Philips and led the spin-off of the leading watermarking technology company Civolution from Philips.
Terpstra will report to executive chairman Erwin van Dommelen, Merapar Executive Chairman in his new role as the company looks to expand into new markets.
“Joining Merapar at this pivotal moment in our industry, as traditional broadcast is challenged by IP streaming and VOD, is very exciting. Traditional IT has changed too – cloud-native engineering, coupled with agile ways of working have redefined the way our engineers work and our customers engage,” said Terpstra.
“I have known Alex for many years, since working with him at Philips, and have huge respect for his experience and industry knowledge. He is the ideal person to lead Merapar, at this time in our growth journey, allowing me to focus on the strategic direction of the business,” added Erwin van Dommelen, Executive Chairman, Merapar.
The consultancy has bases in the Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Poland, Chile and Germany.
