Netflix gave up its leading position to YouTube in streaming on TV in Poland in May.
According to the latest findings of Nielsen’s The Gauge, the YouTube platform achieved a record share of 1.7% on TV in the entire Polish population, with Netflix slipping to 1.6%.
Meanwhile, other streaming services had a combined 3.2% and – significantly – for the first time since The Gauge was launched in Poland in January, streaming usage overall declined.
In other changes, compared to April linear television viewership increased by 0.3pp, accounting for 87.7% of the total TV viewership on TV.
Pay-TV viewership (cable, satellite) increased, while terrestrial TV viewing declined.
