Ocilion adds Sky Austria to IPTV platform

April 13, 2023 11.24 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

IPTV service provider Ocilion now also offers subscription packages of Sky Austria to network operators across Austria.

The Austrian company concluded a comprehensive distribution agreement with the pay-TV operator. Ocilion customers can offer viewers Sky content in three subscription packages and various combination options: Sky Fußball Bundesliga, Sky Sport and Sky Cinema as well as Sky Bonus, which is included as an additional bouquet in the other three packages.

The sports packages offer live matches from the Austrian and German Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and Premier League, as well as Formula 1, golf and tennis. Sky Cinema targets movie fans with current blockbusters, classics, exclusive US series and Sky Originals, while Sky Bonus contains entertainment channels such as Sky One, Sky Comedy and Sky Crime.

Kabelplus already distributes the Sky Austria offer on its IPTV service. Salzburg AG and other network operators are to follow in the coming weeks.

“With its IPTV solution, Ocilion creates an integrated offer and enables users to select their content individually according to their preferences. With our comprehensive sports and entertainment content, we are able to cater precisely to this. A partnership is therefore a great enrichment for both sides and is based on two important strategic directions for Sky: cooperation and a tailored offering. We are looking forward to successfully exploiting synergies and, above all, to working together,” said Michael Radelsberger, Deputy Managing Director of Sky Austria.

Ocilion Managing Director Hans Kühberger added: “I am incredibly proud that we have succeeded in agreeing on a cooperation with Sky and thus in bringing its high-quality content to our IPTV platform. Sky’s excellent programming offer with its wide variety of sports and entertainment content is a great asset for the platform, the network operators and their customers. The agreement represents an important piece of the puzzle to complete our IPTV solution.”

Ocilion supplies network operators in German-speaking countries with a white-label end-to-end IPTV system including 4K set-top boxes, apps, video-on-demand and channel distribution rights. More than 90 customers currently use Ocilion’s IPTV solution to offer a TV service.
