M7 Deutschland, the German provider of TV services for cable and IPTV operators, has extended its long-standing partnership with NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland.
The new, expanded agreement includes the long-term distribution rights of the HD pay-TV channels SYFY and 13th Street, which M7 partners can thus continue offering to their customers via their cable networks and IPTV platforms. A new addition is Universal TV: The pay-TV channel, offered in HD, shows blockbuster movies and series.
In addition to the linear programmes of the three channels, M7 partners are able to provide viewers with interactive add-on features that enable flexible TV usage, including restarting of running programmes, TV recordings via network PVR and multiscreen usage via smartphone/tablet app.
“We are delighted to have secured a long-term contract extension with NBC Universal, with whom we have enjoyed a long and successful partnership. We are thus ensuring continuity for the M7 partners and their customers. With Universal TV, we are also adding another attractive premium HD pay-TV channel to the M7 portfolio, enabling our partners to offer viewers clear added value,” said Marco Hellberg, Managing Director of Eviso Germany, the M7 business bartner in Germany.
Elke Walthelm, Managing Director, NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland, added: “We are very pleased that the successful cooperation between M7 and NBC Universal Global Networks Germany will be continued and further expanded with the integration of Universal TV. With Universal TV, M7’s TV entertainment offering will be complemented by exceptional entertainment with exclusive series and thrilling blockbusters alongside our successful pay-TV channel brands 13th Street and SYFY.”
