August 10, 2022 12.45 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Warner Bros. Discovery GSA general manager Hannes Heyelmann has announced the team of managers who will run operations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

It follows the departure of Alberto Horta, VP Commercial Development and Deputy Managing Director of Discovery Communications Deutschland and Head of Tele 5 (see separate story).

“In the past few weeks I have worked on the future strategy for Warner Bros. Discovery in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and also set the management of the management team for our region,” says Heyelmann. “I spoke to many managers from former Discovery and Warnermedia and was able to get an insight into the numerous projects, diverse processes, tasks and work processes. The commitment, the creativity and professionalism of our managers and teams impressed me again and again.”

The management team of Warner Bros. Discovery GSA is now as follows:

Matthias Heinze – responsible for Distribution and Partnerships, which includes content, affiliate and digital sales as well as consumer products, games and franchise management

Marion Rathmann – responsible for the program of all FTA and pay entertainment channels and streaming offers as well as local non-scripted productions for the FTA channels and Discovery+

Susanne Reiter – responsible for Marketing and Local Creative Services of all FTA and pay entertainment channels as well as streaming in close cooperation with the EMEA streaming marketing team. In addition, management of all insights & research activities

Steffen Schier – responsible for Movie Distribution

Markus Spangler – responsible for the areas of ad sales and media planning

Daniela Allgayer-Koreimann – responsible for communications and events

Magdalena Prosteder – responsible for local cinema productions

A marketing management for the area of cinema and home entertainment, which reports to Hannes Heyelmann, will be announced as soon as possible.

Anke Greifeder – responsible for the area of original production for the Warner TV broadcaster and HBO Max.
