Technical problems encountered by its subscribers could result in the streaming service Viaplay being fined by the Polish competition authority UOKiK.
Wirtualne Media reports that aside from commenting about these problems on social media, some subscribers have complained directly to UOKiK and the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE).
It adds that the problems encountered include service interruptions, transmission buffering and image clipping, preventing them from accessing the service and viewing real-time content.
Complaints to Viaplay itself were rejected or resulted in them being offered an unsatisfactory discount on the subscription fee for the following month.
UOKIK confirmed to Wirtualne Media that it has asked Viaplay for an explanation.
It also said that it could take action against operators based in other countries, which in the case of Viaplay is Sweden.
This could result in an admonition and ultimately a financial penalty.
