Paramount+ set for DACH launch

The streaming service Paramount+ will make its debut in the DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) in December.

It will be available to end users via the Paramount+ app for iOS and Android, as well as supported connected TV devices, for €7.99 a month. Initially, it will be offered as a free app for Sky Q for all Sky Cinema subscribers.

Commenting on the launch, Sabine Anger, SVP streaming for Central & Northern Europe and Asia, Paramount, said: “With the launch of Paramount+ in the German-speaking markets in December, we’re tying up a bundle of the best content and biggest stars from our global studios: a massive one Range of international highlights such as Scream, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, PAW Patrol, The First Lady and many more meets strong local originals – the perfect Christmas present for streaming fans!”

Susanne Schildknecht, SVP MTV entertainment brands Central & Northern Europe and Asia, Paramount, added: “To be able to come up with such a selection with our first set of Originals for Paramount+ to outstanding, award-winning producers, directors, Actors and other creative people are allowed to work together makes us very proud.

“We offer dark comedy, cyber thrillers, crime thrillers, coming-of- Age story to wild pranks and teen romance really has something for everyone. Viewers – and this is just the beginning!”

Paramount+ is set to launch in the UK and Ireland this Wednesday, June 22 and will also be available in Italy from September.

Outside the US, it offers almost 9,000 hours of content, from children’s shows to reality shows to movies to on Paramount+ Originals, as well as series, dramas and sitcoms from CBS and Showtime.
