Staff at RTV Slovenia have staged a one-hour strike demanding journalistic and editorial autonomy, as well as an end to the politicisation of the public broadcaster.
Furthermore, reports Slovenia Times, if their demands are not addressed by May 30 they will demand the resignations of a number of leading executives including the DG Andrej Grah Whatmough.
Meanwhile, Natalija Gorscak has failed to receive the support of the public broadcaster’s programming council for her reappointment as director of the TV Slovenia.
According to N1, she required the support of at least 15 of the 29-member council but only gained the support of eight, with five against, 10 abstaining and two absent.
