fight24 HD teams up with Ocilion to boost distribution

May 5, 2022 09.37 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

German sports channel fight24 HD has entered into a partnership with IPTV service provider Ocilion, which will make the channel available to further network operators and TV platforms in German-speaking Europe.

EWE, a German service provider in the business fields of energy, telecommunications and IT, is the first to distribute the pay-TV channel on its IPTV platform.

“With exclusive martial arts highlights from the fields of Olympic boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling and Muay Thai, fight24 HD offers content rounding off any sports TV package. We are delighted to have Ocilion as a strong and experienced partner at our side to significantly expand our distribution,” said Peter Behrends, Managing Director of fight24 HD operating company Martial Arts Broadcasting Network Ltd. “Other network operators and platforms will follow shortly.”

Thomas Bichlmeir, Head of Content at Ocilion, said: “With fight24 we were able to gain another important component for our channel portfolio. Martial arts is becoming more and more popular and enjoys a growing fan base. This allows us to offer network operators an even greater variety of sports on pay-TV for their end customers.”

fight24 HD offers combat sports from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Europe in HD quality, including Olympic boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts. The 24-hour service includes live broadcasts, news and background reports. The channel can be received on cable networks, IPTV platforms and streaming portals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including Sport1 Extra, waipu.tv, wilhelm.tel, airtango and HD Austria.
