German entertainment channel Tele 5 will continue to be available in HD quality on DTH satellite platform HD+ via Astra (19.2° East).
Parent company Discovery Deutschland extended its partnership with Luxembourg-based Astra satellite operator SES through a long-term agreement for satellite capacity.
“With Astra, we have a strong partner on our side reliably offering us maximum coverage,” said Alberto Horta, head of Tele 5 and VP Commercial Development at Discovery Deutschland.
In parallel to the distribution on HD+, Tele 5 will remain available in SD resolution on Astra, as a spokesperson of the satellite operator confirmed to Broadband TV News.
