The BBC is introducing a new look for the TV version of the iPlayer.
It’s part of wider efforts across the BBC to modernise the user experience across its digital services and apps.
The navigation menu will move to the left-hand side of the screen – making it easier to browse different categories like comedy, drama or sport. The change also allows for more space on the screen for content, meaning viewers are more likely to spot something new to watch.
Further changes will take place on mobile and the web, enabling a consistent experience wherever iPlayer is used.
The new-look begins its rollout today and will come to all TV deployments of iPlayer over the next few weeks. Viewers wanting to take an early look can switch over to iPlayer Beta, which they can do through settings in their iPlayer TV app.
