Almost half (3.9 million) of Dutch households now have access to fibre-optic services.
Furthermore, over 75% of these are provided by KPN.
According to the telco, it is now installing fibre-optics in record time, connecting more than 9,000 homes a week. On the Eikenlaan in Zwolle, the 3 millionth house was provided with fibre-optics via KPN, and at this rate almost everyone will have fibre-optics by 2026.
KPN also says that it plans to install fibre-optics in another 2.5 million homes in the coming period, and thanks to the recently established fibre-optic company Glaspoort many more connections will be added in around 1,000 villages, small residential areas and industrial estates in the next five years.
