Liberty Global has announced executives from both Sunrise Communications and Virgin Media will lead its recently expanded Swiss operation.
In a letter to staff, Liberty Global chief executive officer Mike Fries said Sunrise’s current CEO André Krause would take the same role in the combined business. Prior to becoming CEO, Krause had been chief financial officer at Sunrise for eight years.
“[Krause] is an outstanding executive with a proven track record of growth, innovation and value creation at Sunrise who is uniquely qualified to lead the integration of these two businesses as we deliver on our long term strategic growth plans in the market,” said Fries.
Krause will also join the Liberty Global leadership team.
Meanwhile, Severina Pascu returns to Switzerland from Virgin Media, having already led the turnaround of UPC’s Swiss business. Pascu joined the UK cablenet earlier this year, where she was CFO and Deputy CEO.
Fries described the pairing as the “dream team”.
In London, Virgin Media’s Deputy CFO Gregor McNeil joins the Executive Committee as Acting CFO and Abby Thomas, Executive Director for Customer Operations, moves into the company’s Consumer business.
