National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President and CEO Gordon Smith has announced the organisation’s flagship event is to move to the autumn.
In an open letter, Mr Smith said the NAB’s top priority was to deliver a successful NAB Show.
Writing of the uncertainty the pandemic might bring over the next six months he said there was a “good deal of reluctance around participating in large events in the first half of next year”. With that in mind and having taken soundings from participants the 2021 NAB Show, previously scheduled for April 11–14, will now move to October 9–13, 2021 in Las Vegas.
The new date is just a month after IBC 2021, which like NAB before it has taken this year’s show online.
Alternative dates for NAB New York, traditionally held in October, are now being considered.
