The Albanian TV stations Ora News and Channel One have been seized by the country’s Special Prosecutors.
Balkan Insight reports they are among the assets owned by Ylli Ndroqi, who the prosecutors say is suspected of acquiring them from the proceeds of international drug dealing.
However, this has been denied by Ndroqi’s defence lawyer, who claims the move is politically motivated.
Ndroqi is a critic of the current Albanian government, while the prosecutors have pointed to his arrest in Turkey in 1998 when he was using an alias.
