The Chancellor’s latest press conference, the Bundestag debate on Corona or documentaries: The viewers of German public channel Phoenix can now decide themselves what to watch by clicking on the red button of the remote control.
The new service is based on the HbbTV standard and available on compliant TV sets connected to the internet.
“Current live events, analytical conversations and stunning documentaries are the trademarks of Phoenix, which we will also present on HbbTV. Phoenix is thus making another important contribution to a well-informed society,” said the two Phoenix programme directors Eva Lindenau (ARD) and Michaela Kolster (ZDF).
Part of the offer is the section “Unforgotten Scenes” with historical TV highlights from 24 years of Phoenix as well as original Phoenix documentaries and discussion rounds.
The HbbTV line-up also includes recordings of important live events such as press conferences, plenary debates in the Bundestag, Bundesrat and European Parliament as well as the channel’s regular news programmes.
