Britbox has announced the team that will launch the ITV-led streaming service on the UK market.
The team is led by Reemah Sakaan who has expanded her BritBox US and CA role to become group director SVOD – ITV and is responsible for leading the UK launch.
She’ll report to Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television, who has overall commissioning responsibility for BritBox.
Also on the team is Amy Jones, who previously worked across co-productions and acquisitions at Amazon Prime Video and is overseeing commissions, acquisition and scheduling for the streaming service.
Amy Townsend, previously marketing director at NOW TV, has joined the team as director of consumer marketing and head of product Lee Marshall, who previously led product for ITV Hub, will be responsible for the new service’s product build.
Another former NOW TV staff member, Steve Waterman, becomes head of research, insight & data, while ITV technology stalwart Thomas Thomas is responsible for technology and operations.
Tom Price is director of commercial and financial planning. He brings experience both from the creation of BritBox US and as a director of cirkus, and Neill Torbit, former lead creative at Sky, completes the group as creative lead.

Britbox will launch later in the quarter.
