Elisa tops Estonian pay-TV table

September 3, 2019 10.22 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Elisa ended the second quarter with 206,500 subscribers to its pay-TV services, according to data published by Estonia’s Consumer Protection and Technical Surveillance Authority (TTJA).

It was followed by Telia (205,800), STV (83,000) and other operators (11,000), with the total number of pay-TV subscribers having increased by 30,000 over the last two years.

Commenting on the figures, Andrus Hiiepuu, Elisa’s board member and head of the private client unit, said that Elisa Elamus is very different from today’s market and its market leadership shows that customers are very satisfied with the new service.

“In the fast-growing world of streaming, content is king. When we came out last autumn with our streaming platform to provide our customers with the best content in the best quality, we did not expect such a good response from our users. In just half a year, the usage of Elisa Huub has increased sixfold, and this year we are also launching two brand new Elisa original series, Over the Knife and The Retro.

“There are daily developments in the streaming world and we want to be at the forefront of the Estonian market. In addition, only Elisa can you find everything on TV under the theme worlds and this coming season, we’ll give our customers an even better viewing experience.”
