Google’s YouTube has added 100 feature films โ for free. In addition it will show The Lego Movie also for free on Black Friday.
YouTube signed a deal with MGM to offer over 100 of its films, including the Rocky and Pink Panther movies, the original Terminator, Legally Blonde, Zookeeper and others. So far, the offer is good only in the US. YouTube Premium subscribers get the movies without any commercial breaks
As a special treat, YouTube will also b e showing The Lego Movie also for free on Black Friday, in a special promotion for the The Lego Movie 2. People who view the trailer for the movie on Youtube will be sent to a special link to view the first Lego film for free. The offer is as far as owe know only available in the US.
In some markets, including the US and UK, YouTube has a wider base of titles available, for $19.99 to own or to rent, for $4.99. In the US YouTube also offers episodes and seasons of popular TV shows.
In the US, nearly 20 percent of YouTube viewing is now done on TVs, either on smart sets with a built-in YouTube app or via streaming players such as Roku or Apple TV which bring the YouTube app to TV sets.
