The Russian telco MTS ended the first half of 2018 with over 500,000 subscribers to its satellite TV services.
ComNews reports that this is 2.8 times more than in the same period last year, adding that this is the first time that the company has officially disclosed figures for the service, which was launched at the end of 2014.
The locations with the most MTS satellite TV subscribers, accounting for over 20% of the total, are Moscow and Moscow region, Transbaikal and Krasnodar regions, Novosibirsk region and Buryatia.
Meanwhile, the biggest growth (3.7 times in the year to June 30) was seen in the Transbaikal region.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, MTS is currently working with Huawei to create a single multimedia platform for all its TV services by the end of next year.
